Meet our Activator…Wendy Hewitt!

We’ve asked one of our Manchester campus activators a few questions about why you should get involved in sports at MMU and also about her role as an sports activator!

Name: Wendy Hewitt  wendy

Age: 20

Course: BA (Hons) Fine Art

Sport: Volleyball

What made you become an activator?

I always look for new opportunities to get involved in sports and taking on the role as a sports activator is enabling this to happen. I have found that being an activator is a great way to make new friends as you’re working alongside people with different interests, who study different courses which without the programme you may never meet.

What do you love about Sport?

I love the feeling you get of playing in a team. It’s very much like being part of a family and everyone sticks together no matter what.

Why should people get involved with sport at MMU?

Through playing sports, you will learn new skills and discover new things that you never thought you could do before. All of the programmes that MMU sport run are great ways to start or maintain a healthy lifestyle as well.

What is your greatest sporting memory?

It has to be representing the university and playing volleyball against other universities across the country.

You can meet Wendy by heading to our FREE volleyball Active Campus session every Friday! For more information click here!
