After last week’s cup campaign, our teams return to compete in the Northern leagues.
Here’s our pick of the games taking place on campus on Wednesday 4th November!
MOTD: Women’s Hockey 1s vs University of Manchester 3s
It’s been a great to start to the season for our women’s hockey team! For the first time ever, the team are made up of a combination of players from our Manchester and Cheshire campuses. Competing as a united force is working well for the team so far, after kicking off the season with two incredible league victories.
Tomorrow, the team welcome our local rivals, University of Manchester 3s, to Timperley as they look to continue their unbeaten run and domination of the BUCS Northern 3A.
We’ll be keeping you up-to-date over on Twitter, so give @MMUSport a follow!

Our women’s tennis team are another team who have enjoyed a strong start to the season. After earning promotion last season, the team are sat at the top of the Northern 2A after beating Bangor 8 – 4 and drawing with Liverpool John Moores. Tomorrow they face our local rivals, bottom of the table, UoM and look to continue their good form.

It’s the first game of the season for both of our women’s rugby unions teams tomorrow. Playing at home at Crewe Vagrants, our Cheshire-based team welcome Chester.

Men’s Water Polo 1s vs Durham University 2s
Typically a tough opposition, we’re pretty sure our men’s water polo team will give visitors, Durham, a run for their money tomorrow after starting off their season with two straight victories.
Game starts; 1:00pm, Manchester Aquatics Centre
Women’s Basketball 1s vs University of Manchester 1s
Our final game of the day sees our Cheshire-based women’s basketball team welcome University of Manchester 1s to the Cheshire Sports Centre for a 5:30pm tip off. With only one game under their belts so far this season, which saw the team narrowly miss out on a victory over University of Liverpool, we’re going to be rooting for our team tomorrow – and you should be too!
Tip off: 5:30pm, Cheshire Sports Centre
We’ll be keeping you updated with all of the action on @MMUSport. Best of luck to all of our teams competing tomorrow!
