Meet road cyclist, Richard Lang!
We’re excited to be supporting road cyclist, Richard Lang as he studies Nutritional Sciences at MMU.
Richard has previously competed at the U23 World Road Championships, the Australia Omnium Championships and the Oceania Championships. We spoke to Richard about how he got involved with his sport.
What are your greatest sporting achievements?
“Competing at the Australian Omnium Championships and the Oceania Championships in 2011.”
What are your notable achievements outside of sport?
“I set up and run my own successful corporate cycling business.”
How did you get involved with cycling?
“Through my father.”
Why did you choose to study Nutritional Sciences?
“Nutrition has a big influence on performance and I’d like to gain a broader understanding of this.”
What are your future ambitions and aspirations?
“To become a well-rounded cyclist.”
Who has had the biggest influence on your life?
“My father and my wife.”
What is the best part about being a high performance athlete?
“Seeing the benefits of working hard towards a goal and experiencing the challenges along the way.”
What advice would you give to a young athlete?
“Rest is best.”
