#ThisMMUGirlCan returns to campus for a week of exciting, free activities designed our female students and staff to get involved with!
From new challenges like Pole Fitness and Circuit classes, to old favourites like Women’s Football and Netball, there’s plenty of activities for you to get involved with throughout the week!
And, because this week is specifically about YOU, we’ll be sharing inspiring stories from women just like you across our social media channels, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and join in the conversation by using the #ThisMMUGirlCan hashtag.
It’s no secret that Pole is one of the best ways to build strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and tone your body!
Our Pole Fitness sessions are being led by our societies in Manchester and Cheshire, who are so passionate about what they do that they can’t wait to get you involved as well!
If you fancy giving it a go, we’re offering three Pole sessions as part of the week. Make sure you bring yourself, shorts and a vest top to take part.

Yogalates perfectly blends together Pilates and Yoga for a satisfying workout that combines, in our opinion, the best bits of both classes! It’s a workout designed to build your core strength, flexibility and balance – all good things!
If you fancy giving the class a go for free, then come along to our session.
|Mon 30th Nov||Yogalates||6:45pm – 7:00pm||Platt Lane Sports Complex|
F.I.T stands for Females in Training and conveniently also alludes to what this class will help you do – get yourself fit!
The class is led in the same way as a circuit class, using a range of equipment such as punching pads and medicine balls. Don’t let that put you off – the main benefit of the class is that it’s delivered in a supportive group environment.
|Tues 1st Dec||F.I.T (Females in Training)||5:15pm – 6:15pm||Sugden Sports Centre|
A classic, but a goodie! Part of our Active Campus programme, our Women’s Football session helps you channel your inner Steph Houghton and give the sport a go in a fun and friendly environment. And, as an extra bonus, the session is delivered by a member of coaching staff from MCFC.
|Tues 1st Dec||Women’s Football||6:00pm – 7:00pm||Sugden Sports Centre|
Abs Blast and Bums and Tums
Both of these classes work on those typically difficult areas, helping to tone them up!

|Sat 5th Dec||Bums and Tums||10:30am – 11:30am||Platt Lane Sports Complex|

Another classic, but a goodie! Lots of women stopped playing netball when they left high school, but now there’s no reason why you can’t pick it up again with our fantastic netball sessions! Led by members of our netball club, you’re going to get some good pointers to help you score those nets!

|Tues 1st Dec||Netball||6:00pm – 7:00pm||Cheshire Sports Centre|
Zumba took the world by storm a few years ago and we’ve not looked back since! It’s a great way to put a smile on your face, move your body and burn some calories, all while moving to some Latino-inspired music. ! Our Zumba session is led by our society Chair, Emma, a qualified instructor who is extremely passionate about what she does!
