Some students maybe preparing to leave for home this week for Christmas but there are still some important fixtures to be played before the close of year! This is our last #BUCSWednesday of 2015 and we hope to leave it on a high!
Here’s our picks of the games taking place across campus on Wednesday 16th December.
MATCH OF THE DAY: Women’s Rugby Union 1s vs Liverpool Hope 1s
Our women’s rugby union 1s have only played two games this academic year but are still yet to be beaten! In their last game, they were comfortable winners against Bradford 1st in the Northern Conference Cup. This Wednesday, in our MOTD, they face bottom of the league Liverpool Hope 1s. This will be the second time they have met this year. Last time saw our women’s team win 20-0 at Mossley Hill. They will hope to repeat this result tomorrow, ending 2015 on a high and move up to 2nd in the Northern 2A!
We’ll be rooting for them!
Game starts: 2:00pm, Broughton Park Rugby Club
Men’s Basketball 1s vs Bolton 1s
It’s been a perfect start to the season for our men’s basketball 1s. Winning all five of their league games this year, they are dominating Northern 2A. They’re three points ahead of 2nd place Liverpool 1s, with a game in hand. Tomorrow, they face bottom of the table Bolton 1s, who are yet to win a game this year. A win here will see our men’s 1s extend their lead to six points. This will set them up nicely going into 2016 in their quest of promotion into Northern 1A!
Game starts: 7:30pm, Bolton One Sports Centre
Women’s Rugby Union 2s vs Chester 1s
It has been another perfect start to the year for Cheshire based women’s 2s, they sit at the top of Northern 3A. They have won both of their first two league games so far! In their last match, back in November they battered Manchester 2s 78-5. This Wednesday they face second to bottom Chester 1s, they will hope to continue their winning streak and extend their lead at the top of the league going into 2016.
Game starts: 2:00pm, Chester Rugby Club
We’ll be keeping you updated with all of the action on @MMUSport. Best of luck to all of our teams competing tomorrow!
