In this week’s Spotlight On… we’re getting to know our Women’s Lacrosse team a little bit better!
Part of our Lacrosse club, our women’s team have had a mixed season so far this year, facing some tough opposition in the Northern 2A. That being said, after a great result in the first round of the Cup, the team are preparing for the quarterfinals in February!
We spoke to team captain, Amy Devine, to find out a little bit more about the club.
How many members do you have?
“We’ve got just over 20 in the women’s team.”
What is the best part about being in your sports club?
“Being with all of the girls and having fun whilst keeping fit. I’ve met some of my best friends through this club.”
How did your club do last year on and off the pitch?
“We did OK, we came fourth in our league.”
What were the highs and lows from last season?
“The highs were winning our matches and building up the team spirit even when we lost. There weren’t many lows, just when we lost, but even when we did, we didn’t get down about it.”
What are your hopes for the rest of 2015/16?
“We’d like to get to the final of the cup and maybe get promoted to the next league group.”
