#BUCSWednesday: It’s that time of the week again!

#BUCSWednesday is back for the second time in 2016! After a quiet one last week, we welcome back more of our teams.

Here’s our pick of the games taking place on Wednesday 27th January!

MATCH OF THE DAY: Women’s Rugby Union 1s vs Lancaster 1s

It has been another perfect start to the season for our women’s 1s. They have won all three of their matches so far this season and are positioned 3rd in Northern 2A. This Wednesday they face joint on points Lancaster 1s, who are 2nd in the table. Our women’s team have a game in hand over Lancaster however, so they will hope to finish in a good position at the end of the season with a win here. Get yourself down to Broughton Park Rugby Club to cheer them on in our MOTD tomorrow!

Game starts: 2:00pm, Broughton Park Rugby Club

Men’s Football 3s vs Lancaster 2s

Men's Football 6
Our men’s football team competing against Manchester at Maiden Castle last year.

Our Cheshire based men’s football 3s have had a fantastic start to the season so far. Sitting in 2nd place in the Northern 4A, they are level on points with top place Manchester 3s. This Wednesday they face bottom side Lancaster 2s for the second time this season. Back in October, in their opening game of the season, they won comfortably at home 3-0. They will hope to repeat the win and pile on the pressure at the top of the table! Good luck lads!

Game starts: 2:00pm, Lancaster Football Pitches

 Women’s Lacrosse 1s vs Lancaster 1s

Our women’s lacrosse team have had a mixed season so far this year, facing some tough opposition in the Northern 2A. However, there is still a great buzz around the team. This week they face Lancaster 1s away for the second time this season. Their first encounter was back in November in the Northern Conference Cup which saw our women come out on top in a 11-6 win! A repeat win in the league will be great news for our Spotlight Club of the week!

Game starts: 2:00pm, Lancaster Astro Pitch 2

Women’s Netball 6s vs Glyndwr 1s

Our Manchester based Netball 6s have had a good start to the season so far. They are currently joint second in the Northern 7A. Tomorrow they face bottom of the table Glyndwr 1s at Sugden Sports Centre, they will hope to repeat the November cup win against them and push for a good finish at the end of the season!

Game starts: 2:30pm, Sugden Sports Centre.

We’ll be keeping you updated with all of the action on @MMUSport.  Best of luck to all of our teams competing tomorrow!
