The national Midday Mile sees organisations across the country take part in the largest simultaneous lunchtime stroll. On Thursday 26 May at 12 noon, MMU Sport are inviting all staff to walk, jog, run, or cycle one mile.
Our friends at Transport for Greater Manchester are putting on a guided walk of the local area that will only take 30 minutes of your lunchbreak
Book your free place here and then meet in the reception area of the Business School at 12.30pm on the 26 May. If you’re on twitter, why not tweet from your walk using the hashtag #middaymile
From 12:00 noon-2pm in the Business School you can visit a stand and find out more about the health benefits of walking and what Man Met are doing to support walking in the workplace.
The TfGM travel advisors and Abi – MMU Sport’s Active Lifestyle Officer – will be on hand to:
- Provide travel advice on walking routes and journey planning
- Advise on how walking can benefit your health and wellbeing
- Offer free goodies to those interested in walking
- Learn more about our upcoming MMU staff hill walking day.
Andrew Taylor, Travel Plan Manager, said “The lunch time walk last year was a great opportunity to stretch my legs and also hear some fascinating history from the guide about locations only a short distance from the campus. I came back both refreshed and informed. I would highly recommend the Midday Mile and don’t miss out on the free goodies.”
