It’s been an amazing week for MMU Sport scholars – from Paralympic selection to setting world records, Sportcity success to being crowned a British Champion.
Remember Super Saturday at London 2012? It’s been JUST like that at MMU Sport this week.
Only it was four superstar scholars that shone bright.
First up Tully Kearney has been selected to represent Great Britain for the Paralympic Games.
The four-time World Champion had a fantastic 2015 and we’re keeping everything crossed that she’ll surpass herself this year.
Good luck in your preparations, Tully!
Next up para-athlete and para-cyclist Kadeena Cox registered a world record in the T37 200m in Barcelona.
The 25-year-old, who is looking to become the first GB athlete to win medals in two sports at one Games (yes really!) since 1988, clocked a time of 27.63 seconds.
Amazing work Kadeena and good luck in Paris next week!
Meanwhile athlete Jamie Webb triumphed slightly closer to home, winning the 800m in the BMC Grand Prix at SportCity.
Congratulations Jamie, and thank you for three years of BUCS brilliance!
And if one wasn’t enough, we have a second champion in the pool.
Daniel Paddon won the British Water Polo Championships with the City of Manchester Water Polo club.
Dan is only in his first year at MMU and we’re sure he’s got plenty more success to come.
